The Fog Engineers H.Ikeuchi & Co.,LTD

Business Operations

Our company operates based on two central pillars: general spray-nozzle operations, which involves the proposal and sale of all types of IKEUCHI nozzle products to customers, and customer solutions business, which entails the provision of solutions to customer problems and challenges by utilizing the properties of fog generated using our products.

The Nozzle Division handles hydraulic spray nozzles, pneumatic spray nozzles, air nozzles and other types of spray nozzle while also responding to the needs of relevant industries as they pertain to production facilities, environment-related equipment and so forth.

Our customer solutions business comprises four highly specialized experts in humidification, cooling, environment and agriculture. With spray-nozzle-generated fog as our core technologies, each division embarks on a wide range of proprietary engineering projects and we endeavors as part of one-of-a-kind corporate activities in Japan and abroad.

Our Business Fields

Both IKEUCHI's spray nozzle operations and customer solutions business activities are vital to the industrial world, and they serve a wide range of industrial fields and applications.
Although specific requirements and demands change with the times as technologies evolve, we focus specifically on the basic, fundamental areas of these in our spray nozzle operations. For example, areas such as cleaning, cooling, humidification, coating and air blowing play important roles in supporting the foundations of technical progress in increasingly advanced industrial fields.
Regarding customer solutions, we make use of the unique medium of fog in our efforts to propose optimized solutions to combat global warming, solve energy-related problems, fight food shortages or otherwise respond to the needs of society.

Steelmaking

Our involvement in the steelmaking industry goes back many years: we developed pneumatic spray nozzles for steelmaking applications in 1983, where they were used for cooling purposes in continuous casting operations and also put to use in other applications. Our spray nozzles are also used in processes including descaling, washing, surface treatment, and dust suppression.

Paper & Pulp, Printing

In fields such as papermaking and printing, spray nozzles are used in almost all processes. Our spray nozzles are used for canvas washing, edge-trimming, controlling moisture content of paper and cardboard, air for sheet separation and transport. Our nozzles are also used to remove particles from post-washing waste water, and support environmental protection.

Food Products

The introduction of spray nozzles in food product operations has helped achieved greater automation, higher precision and cost-reductions compared with old approaches which relied on manual operations. Our spray nozzles play an important part in the creation of delicious and safe food and beverage products, whether they be bread, rice balls, frozen foods, snack foods, beer, or anything else.

Agriculture, Livestock

Spray nozzles have long been used in primary industries such as agriculture and livestock, and here at IKEUCHI we got our start in this area by making nozzles for pesticide spraying applications. Expanding from pesticide spray drift prevention, cattle-barn cooling, sterilization, washing of fish and other sea creatures at marine product processing centers, and other such primary-industry applications, we are now involved in other new applications such as providing cool and comfort spot at shops of products, processed foods, or beverages from own farms.

Environment, Entertainment

In addition to environmental pollution prevention measures, our spray-nozzle-based measures in the environmental field include urban heat island (UHI) countermeasures, treatment of industrial wastewater before it enters rivers, and other such efforts. Furthermore, the multimedia-presentation effects we provide using fog, sound, light and other such elements during shows and visual displays at locations including commercial facilities, parks, amusement parks and event venues have been met with widespread praise in recent years.

Energy

In order to achieve required safety levels at the power plants that provide us with electric power, IKEUCHI spray nozzles are used for fire-prevention purposes at many such facilities. Moreover, because power provision stability poses a major challenge for power plant operators, we are pursuing novel measures such as the use of spray nozzles to cool the inlet-air in power-generating facilities with the aim of bolstering output during the summer, a season that hinders efficiency with its high temperatures.

Construction

In the construction industry, we use spray nozzles in construction sites to keep down dust, prevent heatstroke among workers and rectify other such problems. The factories that produce the materials used in such construction projects also face similar problems, which is why these customers utilize spray nozzles in conjunction with other equipment (dust collectors, localized coolers, etc.) as effective countermeasures.
