Cooling System

Cooling System Solutions

What image do the words "Cooling System" bring to mind ?
The common image of cooling using nozzles is to cool down an object simply by spraying  water on it from the nozzles.  However, this is only cooling using sensible heat.   On the other hand, Ikeuchi's cooling system provides cooling using latent heat.  The performance of cooling with latent heat is more than 500 times higher than that by sensible heat.

IKEUCHI Cooling Systems provides not only that !

a_blt006.gif No-Drain Cooling
While cooling an object with sprayed water, the water completely evaporates.  It keeps the object from becoming wet and needs no drainage.

a_blt010.gif Control of Cooling Speed
Control the cooling speed depending on the temperature or characteristics of the object  to be cooled down.  If quick cooling is required, rapid cooling is provided but if thorough cooling is required, slow cooling is provided.

a_blt009.gif Spot Cooling
There are cases where the cooling speed has to be changed depending on where the object is placed.  In such a case, the cooling speed can be changed.  Furthermore, if there are some things near the object that must be prevented from getting cool or wet,  spot cooling can be done.

IKEUCHI Cooling Systems classifies the evaporation phenomenon of droplets.

Regardless of solid cooling or gas cooling, the phenomena are classified between evaporation in gas and evaporation from solid surfaces. We created 5 models.

IKEUCHI Cooling Systems determines the cooling characteristics for each of these 5 models depending on the gaseous atmosphere or solid characteristics for our various nozzles.  From the model analysis, we can propose the best solution from among many variations.

What is the most suitable mist for cooling ?

"The Mist Engineers" IKEUCHI classifies spray droplet size of 10 um and less as "Dry fog" and the spray droplet size of 10 - 30 um as "Semi dry fog".  The cooling methods using these fine spray droplets are favored by a wide range of customers.
IKEUCHI Cooling Systems proposes the optimum cooling system by selecting the suitable spray droplet that can meet the various conditions required from the objects to be cooled.

Solid: We offer a cooling system which provides no wetting.
Gas:    We offer a no-drain cooling which provides complete evaporation and prevents dust from getting wet.

Among the solid cooling applications, there is a field of mold release agent  spraying for aluminum die-casting.  The purpose of the system is not only for cooling but also for fine control of spraying to apply the mold release agent evenly and in small amounts.
IKEUCHI Cooling Systems is handling not only the cooling of objects but also taking on the problems of coating around the cooling region and the chemical reactions due to the spraying of the chemical agent.

The optimum spray droplet differs depending on the cooling target and cooling temperature.  IKEUCHI Cooling Systems is pleased to declare that we have amassed a wealth of knowledge through the actual usage of our wide range of nozzles and from more than a decade of cooling experiments.

Optimization of Cooling System

IKEUCHI Cooling Systems selects the optimum spray droplet judging from the cooling target and cooling temperature.  The selection of the nozzle is a just one of the factors for the optimization of a cooling system. In order to generate the optimum spray droplets, we select the most suitable nozzle as well as optimize other factors.  At this stage, if we find no suitable nozzle available in our product range, we are willing to develop new nozzles.
A nozzle can achieve its best performance only if it is used under the optimum conditions.  Why not work together with Ikeuchi Cooling Systems to find the optimum spray droplets for you ?

Introduction of Case Examples

IKEUCHI Cooling Systems has a long track record in cooling.
The cooling we aim for is non-wetting cooling, no-drain cooling.

Cooling-A1.jpgSteel plate cooling

Cooling for a wide range of steel plates In response to the temperature, shape, characteristics and production line speed of the steel plate, optimum control is executed so that the occurrences of nonuniform temperature and distortion can be prevented.

We aim at not only improving the productivity and reducing the thermal and environmental impact by shortening the cycle time but also enhancing the product quality by providing the optimum cooling.
